Moving Stories
The exhibition Moving Stories, exhibition, The Richness of the Limes, tells the story of migration. Two thousand years ago, the Limes, the border of the Roman Empire, ran right through the Netherlands. Soldiers from all over the world flocked to the Rhine to build and man fortresses and watchtowers on the south bank, with families, traders and craftsmen in their wake. They left behind everything they knew, sometimes by their own free will, but often by force. Moving Stories connects the history of the Limes with the present. Archaeologists and contemporary artists went in search of the ‘moving stories’ of migration.
