Major cities in the world have become a magnet for new citizens, tourists, expats and laptop-nomads. This pressure can also be felt in Amsterdam. Over the next fifteen years, the city will be growing to the magical number of 1 million inhabitants. Are we following in the footsteps, where capital is entering the city at the expense of a disappearing middle class? What will that do with our capital and what can be done to prevent this?
Can the tide still be turned in order to protect the soul of the city? What all these question come down to is: who owns the city of the future?
